Aluminium chloride is a salt formed by the reaction of aluminum chloride (a compound of aluminum and chlorine) with water. When this substance is absorbed by the skin, blood vessels in the sweat glands constrict. This temporarily inhibits the production of sweat: the reason this substance is often added to antiperspirant deodorants.
Despite its effective action, aluminum chlorohydrate is not so good for your body. We don't sweat for nothing! It is a way for the body to cool down and eliminate waste. When the sweat glands are blocked, you disrupt this process. Moreover, the substance can clog sweat glands, which can cause irritations, swelling, or even inflammation of the underarm skin.
